COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on shipping and postage all over the world.  Ocean View Woodworking, like many other small online businesses, experienced the challenges presented due to this virus.  We continue to use Canada Post for our deliveries and caution our customers it is likely there will be delays in the advertised delivery schedules posted by Canada Post for the foreseeable future.  We apologize for any delays but once our product leaves our studio it's delivery schedule is out of our control.  We thank you for continuing to support our small business during this very trying time.

Unfortunately, no. Very rarely do we carry inventory.  Most orders are made and finished just for you within  5 - 10 business days of receipt of your order.  We ship using Canada Post parcel service and their third-party carriers which, for most items, means you receive your order 3 - 9 days after it leaves our studio workshop. 


We purchase our lumber from various lumber suppliers in Nova Scotia.  Whenever possible we try to obtain maple, ash, and oak that has been harvested from a Nova Scotia forest but on occasion, these species will have come from Ontario or Quebec.  Our walnut and cherry are primarily from the USA.  In all cases, we purchase only from suppliers that sell sustainably harvested lumber.


All of our product dimensions are specified in inches.  For example 12 x 10 x 2 describes a product that is approximately 12 (twelve) inches long by 10 (ten) inches wide and 2 (two) inches deep.  Our tolerances are nominally plus or minus 1/2 inch (one half of one inch) of the stated dimensions and are dependent on the original raw material available.
